The Electronic Technician produces electronic parts and sub-assemblies and inspects customers’ equipment on arrival to identify any faults and to carry out repair and calibration. They assist with day-to-day manufacturing activities, including soldering of components, crimping wires, printed circuit board assembly, cable assembly and final assembly of the Company’s existing products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce electronic parts and sub-assemblies
- Test sub-assemblies and parts using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-meters
- Final assembly of systems
- Communicate updates to existing build instructions for latest specification and revision control
- Perform calibration, final test and documentation and packing of new and returned products
- Repair electronic systems to component level
- Use drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, modify, rework or re-assemble units
- Carry out tasks that are repetitive in nature with the ability to recognise non-conformity
- Work with the production engineering and the development team to improve product and manufacturing methods
- Work with the Production Team to achieve Production Targets and KPI’s
- Involvement in annual stocktakes
- Ensure that the Company Quality Policy and Procedures are applied and adhered to
- Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Policy and Procedures are applied and adhered to
- Perform any other tasks when requested by manager.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years’ experience of working in an Electronic Manufacturing environment
EDUCATION:
- GCSE’s Grade C in Mathematics, Science and English, or equivalent
- BTEC HNC/HND or higher in Electronic discipline
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Ability to solder to a high level and knowledge of IPC-A-610
- Familiar with Lean 5s
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Good oral and written communication
- Ability to interact with people at all levels
- Ability to work well as part of a small team
- Must be able to work well individually with limited supervision also
- Attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve under pressure and think outside of the box
