PURPOSE OF JOB:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Audit, Advisory and Strategy team and help ensure delivery of Bytes’ consultancy products and services, becoming a trusted advisor to a varied and interesting client base.

 

The Senior Consultant will play a key role in delivery of audit, implementation and strategic advisory services whilst also working alongside the other members of the team to build collateral, identify emerging services and engage scoping calls with potential new clients.

 

Bytes prides itself on its ability to develop and maintain long term relationships with their client base and the role of Senior Consultant should enhance this, becoming a trusted advisor for all matters relating to information security.

 

The ideal candidate will be capable of working autonomously and leading engagements to ensure that delivery of Bytes services is conveyed effectively.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively deliver external and internal projects to clients.
  • Develop, enhance and standardise customer-facing collateral used by the practice.
  • Attend client meetings and scoping calls to effectively scope engagements and deliver customised consultancy services.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead on strategic client engagements, leveraging assessments to develop and implement a cyber strategy.
  • Deliver high-level Executive Briefings to C-Suite level employees.
  • Lead consultancy engagements for ISF maturity assessments.
  • Deliver customer support to achieve compliance/certification against recognised standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST CSF and PCI DSS.
  • Conduct information asset discovery workshops and engagements.
  • Delivery of external stakeholder training and awareness presentations.
  • Conduct risk assessment workshops and engagements.
  • Identify client requirements and estimate effort for potential information security engagements.
  • Provide improvement and enhancement suggestions for existing collateral and develop new collateral where required.
  • Contribute to internal awareness campaigns, such as sales enablement activities for AAS services.
  • Foster effective and successful team working project environment to ensure resources are motivated and projects delivered successfully.
  • Ensure project documentation such as status reports, end of stage reports and customer signoffs are produced / obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

Essential:

  • English Fluency – excellent communicator (both written and oral)
  • An ability to present professionally, calmly and courteously to clients
  • Degree level qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Cyber Security (or a related field) or 5 years experience working within an information security role
  • Minimum 2 years experience in delivering consultative engagements using well known risk management and data security frameworks, standards, and methodologies
  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer qualification
  • CISMP or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience communicating complex information security concepts to top level (C suite) management.
  • Experience in the following areas of information assurance:
    • ISO/ISEC 27001:2013 or :2022
    • Business Continuity
    • Supplier Management
    • Incident Management
    • Physical Security

Desirable:

  • A cloud-based information security qualification, such as CCSK or equivalent
  • CISM or CISSP
  • An understanding of UK data protection regulation and the requirements of the GDPR.
  • A current or lapsed QSA qualification
  • Experience with the following standards:
    • NIST CSF
    • PCI DSS

Training Given:

  • Job specific training will be given during employment both on the job and by vendors.

Other Requirements:

  • Some hours outside the normal working times may be required to complete specific projects.
  • Whilst this role is primarily remote, there may be the requirement for some travel throughout the UK.
