PURPOSE OF JOB:

(OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF THE POST WITHIN THE TEAM AND ORGANISATION)

We are actively searching for an experienced and proficient Product Owner to become a valuable part of the Bytes team. In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with shaping the vision for our ecommerce platform, translating business requirements into tangible solutions that drive our organisation’s success.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Vision and Strategy:
    • Develop and communicate a clear product vision that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
    • Understand market trends, user’s needs and business goals to steer the product development.
  • Product Backlog Management:
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, customers, and the development team.
    • Gather requirements, feedback, and insights from various sources and document findings.
    • Clearly communicate product goals and priorities to all stakeholders.
  • User-Centric Approach:
    • Continuous Discovery - understand user needs, pain points, and behaviours.
    • Advocate for user-centric design and continuous enhancements.
    • Ensure that the product delivers value to end-users.
  • Sprint Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the development team during program increment and sprint planning.
    • Define sprint goals and prioritise backlog items for each sprint.
    • Participate in stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Feature Development:
    • Work closely with designers, developers, and QA to deliver high-quality features.
    • Provide clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and context for user stories.
    • Make timely decisions during development to keep the team on track.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing:
    • Validate that features meet the specified requirements.
    • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure functionality and usability.
    • Address any defects or issues promptly.
  • Performance Metrics and KPIs:
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the product’s success.
    • Monitor metrics such as conversion rates, and user engagement.
    • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
  • Competitor Analysis:
    • Stay informed about industry trends and competitors.
    • Analyse competitor products, pricing, and features.
    • Identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Own and regularly review and refine the product roadmap.
  • Adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Educational Qualifications:

Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office and Excel

 

Familiarity with platforms like AWS and Azure

Familiarity with software development best practices.

 

Understanding technical aspects to bridge the gap between business requirements and development

Professional Qualifications

Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Product Manager (CPM)

 

Demonstrated exceptional communication with internal users and stakeholders

Years of Experience

3 years commercial experience in a Business Administration, Computer Science or Operations Management

 

2 years experience as a product owner in the industry

 

Previous experience as a product owner managing roadmap and backlog items.
